The Office of the President – Adama Science and Technology University

At Adama Science and Technology University, the Office of the President serves as the central leadership hub, guiding the institution’s vision, mission, and strategic direction. The president is the chief executive officer of the university, responsible for ensuring academic excellence, advancing research and technology transfer, and fostering sustainable development.

The president’s leadership is closely supported by a Chief Executive Officer of President Office, and three vice presidents: the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Vice President for Research and Technology Transfer, and the Vice President for Administration and Development. Together, they form the Academic Council (AC) that drives ASTU’s commitment to academic excellence, research, innovation, university-industry linkage, technology transfer, and community service.

The Office of the President also supervises a wide range of specialized executive units that strengthen the university’s governance and outreach. These include the ICT Executives, the Executive Office of Public and International Relations, the Directorate of Internationalization and Partnership, the Strategic Planning Executive, and the Legal Affairs Executive. In addition, the office oversees the Women and Social Affairs Executive, the Audit Executive, the Anti-Corruption Executive, and the Institutional Reform Executive. Each of these units plays a vital role in ensuring transparency, inclusivity, accountability, and technological advancement across the university.

Through this integrated leadership structure, the president ensures that ASTU remains a center of excellence in science and technology, a driver of national development, and a globally engaged institution. The Office of the President upholds the institutional values, working tirelessly to prepare the University for Opportunities and Challenges of the future.
