Adama Science and Technology University (ASTU) convened a successful validation workshop for the research project entitled "Technology Need Assessment and Strategic Roadmap for the ICT, Trade, Transport and Environment sectors of Oromia Regional State" on May 2, 2025, at the Dire International Hotel in Adama, Ethiopia.

ASTU organized Validation Workshop on Geospatial Database for Shaggar City

Adama Science and Technology University (ASTU) organized a validation workshop focused on the Development of a Geospatial Database for the Manufacturing Industries of Shaggar City on January 25, 2025 at Dire International Hotel Adama, Ethiopia. The event, conducted in collaboration with the Oromiya Investment and Industry Bureau (OIIB) bringing together key stakeholders from various sectors.

Mr. Ahmed Idris, Head of the Oromiya Investment and Industry Bureau, opened the workshop with a warm welcome to all participants. He expressed his appreciation to ASTU for its commitment to producing valuable documents that significantly impact the manufacturing sector. Mr. Ahmed emphasized the crucial role that the manufacturing industry plays in creating job opportunities for youth, boosting export goods, and introducing new technologies to the region.
During the workshop, Mr. Wosho Kedir, Deputy Head of the Oromiya Investment and Industry Bureau, underscored the importance of integrating digital technology into operational processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across manufacturing enterprises.
Dr. Lemi Guta, President of ASTU, declared the successful completion of the Geospatial Database for Manufacturing Industries of Shaggar City project, highlighting its potential to benefit stakeholders and the government of the Oromiya Regional State. He underscored the importance of using technology and online services for sustainable development. The workshop featured the presentation of four scholarly papers, followed by engaging discussions that encouraged collaboration and knowledge sharing among participants.

In conclusion, Dr. Lemi Guta officially handed over the Cottage Industry Project Strategic Plan Document and Rural Industrialization Project Implementation Plan Document to Mr. Ahmed Idris.
