Adama Science and Technology University (ASTU) successfully hosted a project handover workshop in collaboration with the Oromia Investment and Industry Bureau (OIIB) on March 8, 2025 at Dire International Hotel, Adama, Ethiopia.

The event commenced with a warm welcome and an opening speech by Dr. Lemma Beresa, Vice President for Research and Technology Transfer at ASTU.
Dr. Lemma highlighted the strong collaboration between ASTU and OIIB on various development projects in the manufacturing industry sector, emphasizing their significant contributions to both regional and national development. He expressed confidence that the newly completed project would enhance paperless services and improve the management of manufacturing industries under OIIB. He further reaffirmed ASTU’s commitment to supporting OIIB in operationalizing the developed Geospatial Database.
Mr. Wosho Kedir, Deputy Head of OIIB, delivered a keynote speech acknowledging ASTU’s management and experts for their dedication to developing valuable projects. He also assured that OIIB would continue working closely with ASTU in various dimensions.
Dr. Dejenie Tesema, the project manager, presented a comprehensive overview of the project’s deliverables, post-project activities, and the roles and responsibilities of ASTU and Sheger City in operating the project in the next three months. He extended his heartfelt gratitude to ASTU, and OIIB managements, Sheger City, and the project, and the technical committees for their invaluable contributions to the project's success.
Professor Yadesa Melaku, Chief Executive Officer of the ASTU President’s Office, officially handed over all necessary project documents, both in digital and hard copy formats, to Mr. Wosho Kedir, Deputy Head of OIIB.

Concluding the event, Dr. Solomon Tiruneh, Vice President for Administration and Development, underscored the importance of industry-university partnerships in driving regional and national progress. Highlighting ASTU’s strengths, including its dedicated leadership, skilled professionals, and conducive working environment, he encouraged regional offices to leverage these opportunities. Reiterating ASTU’s commitment to collaboration, he urged OIIB and Sheger City to serve as ambassadors of ASTU by ensuring the proper implementation of the project.
