ወደ ራስገዝ ዩኒቨርሲቲነት ሽግግር እያደረገ ባለበት በአሁኑ ወቅት የመጀመሪያውን የቀድሞ ተማሪዎች ካርኒቫል በሀገር ውስጥና በውጪ ሀገር የሚገኙ በርካታ የቀድሞ ተመራቂዎች በተገኙበት በደማቅ ሁኔታ ተከብሯል።፡፡

Adama Science and Technology University (ASTU) convened a successful validation workshop for the research project entitled "Technology Need Assessment and Strategic Roadmap for the ICT, Trade, Transport and Environment sectors of Oromia Regional State" on May 2, 2025, at the Dire International Hotel in Adama, Ethiopia.

The 5th international research symposium being held by ASTU from May 9-10, 2025 is organized under the theme: "Stepping towards sustainability through circular economy: waste into resource."

The first day of the research symposium was colorfully opened at Oda Nebi Hall of Adama Science and Technology University (ASTU) Campus in the presence of higher government officials, invited guests, and seasoned expert speakers, and researchers from across the world and Ethiopia.

 Dr. Teshome Abdo, Vice President for academic affairs and the delegate of ASTU President commenced the event with a welcome speech. Expressing his heartfelt gratitude to the participants who are gathered to contribute their part by sharing their experiences and research out puts on the occasion, Dr. Teshome underscored the significance of the scientific symposium to finding sustainable solutions for the nation’s socioeconomic problems.

 
CEO of Academic Affairs at the Ministry of Education, and the guest of honor of the symposium Dr. Eba Mijena, in his opening speech appreciated ASTU to organize international research symposium focusing on converting waste into resource. Underscoring waste management as a serious issue, Dr. Eba urged the scientific society to give due emphasis to address the problem with innovation.
The morning plenary session of the research symposium was devoted to two Keynote speeches presented by Professor Jemal Abawaji from Deakin University, Australia, who spoke on “using cooperative drone swarms with reinforcement learning”, and Dr. Katharina Prost, Founder and CEO of ClimEtSan-O, The Ground GmbH Bonn, Germany, who presented her research titled “Biochar, Ecological Sanitation and compositing-paths to a circular society”. Recognition ceremony of the keynote speakers by the vice presidents of ASTU was also part of the plenary session.
In the afternoon session of the research symposium, over 16 scientific papers were presented in different syndicate halls on four thematic areas namely: manufacturing and energy, environment and natural resources, space technology and computational science, and emerging technology.

The International Research Symposium is expected to continue tomorrow, May 10, 2025 with five keynote speeches and the presentations of about 20 scientific papers.
