As part of its engagement in demand driven & problem solving research, ASTU is proud to have collaborated with Bio & Emerging Technologies Institute (BETin). ASTU and BETin entered into the partnership to tackle the widely spread infestation of mango trees in Ethiopia. Dr. Ofgaa Djirata, a senior researcher at ASTU, was selected to lead this project.

We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of life skillsand effective job habit training that has been delivered by Students Skill Development Coordination Office. About 100 talented ASTU students, selected for Kefeta Paid internship program, participated and successfully completed the training.
These bright minds have honed their skills and developed new competencies to excel in their professional lives.

ASTU has organized a successful capacity building training in collaboration with Education and Training Authority (ETA). The participants of the training include top management of the university, middle management members, and department heads.
Mrs. Fikiraddis Jima, Director of Education Quality Enhancement Directorate of ASTU, welcomed all the participants and highlighted the activities accomplished by the directorate.

The training is organized for female academic staff members. Dr. Alemu Disasa, Vice President of Research and Technology Transfer, who opened the training at Borati Hall, recalled that the Gender Affairs Directorate has picked an important issue to encourage women's participation. He stressed that there is a need to boost the participation of female academic staff through different mechanisms.

In his opening speech, Dr. Alemu Dissasa, VPRTT, noted that the program is organized to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship as well as share experiences and thereby create enabling platforms to achieve better results in the sector. He also stated that ASTU is focusing on organizing entrepreneurship, innovation and technology development platforms to provide special training to students to develop original ideas and innovations.
